Firstly, thank you to the Lantern Rouge, Team Bateman’s and Toronto Hustle cycling teams for coming together in solidarity. Thank you to city councillor, Brad Bradford for attending the ride and speaking on the issue.

Thank you to everyone who rode, ran or walked. Thank you to those who came from Burlington, Oakville, Oshawa and other parts of the GTA.

Today was day 16 for me. Today I didn’t feel like I was riding, I felt like I was flying. The energy everyone had was surreal. The conversations I had were meaningful. The solidarity was real.

I know getting up at 5 or 6am on a Sunday for everyone isn’t easy, but that was the point of the start time – to go outside your comfort zone and challenge yourself. Today, you all met that challenge and got uncomfortable and from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.

Without you, this conversation, at this level, wouldn’t be had. I appreciate all of you who have been sharing posts, DM’ing me, challenging me and riding with me, either physically or in solidarity on your own – thank you. This is only the beginning of this journey.
